Eucalyptus Partner Day 2010 Bringing Together Cloud Computing Ecosystem

Private Cloud Leader's Inaugural Partner Event to be Held June 22 in San Francisco

SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. - June 8, 2010 – Eucalyptus Systems, Inc., creator of the leading open source private cloud software, today announced the first annual Eucalyptus Partner Day, to be held on Tuesday, June 22 in San Francisco. This one-day event exclusively for existing and new Eucalyptus partners will feature presentations by Eucalyptus executives and partners including Novell, Canonical and RightScale that address the state of cloud computing and the growing ecosystem of solutions for Eucalyptus.

"Our first annual partner day promises to be an important event for the industry, with networking opportunities and presentations by some of the most innovate companies in cloud computing," said Matt Reid, Eucalyptus vice president of sales and marketing. "We understand the importance our partners' value-added products and services bring to the thousands of customers deploying our cloud platform. In addition to existing Eucalyptus partners, we welcome attendance by any organization that is interested in exploring Eucalyptus software and becoming a technology, systems integration or channel Eucalyptus partner."

Eucalyptus is open source software for implementing on-premise cloud computing using an organization's own secure IT infrastructure, without modification, special-purpose hardware or reconfiguration. Eucalyptus turns data center resources such as machines, networks, and storage systems into a cloud that is controlled and customized by local IT. Eucalyptus is fully compatible with the Amazon AWS cloud infrastructure and is available in two editions: Eucalyptus open source and Eucalyptus Enterprise Edition (EE), which supports VMware technologies.

Highlights of Eucalyptus Partner Day include presentations by Eucalyptus CEO Marten Mickos and CTO Rich Wolski outlining the Eucalyptus strategy and roadmap and the evolving role of private and hybrid clouds. In addition, key Eucalyptus customers and partners including Novell, Canonical, RightScale, Terracotta, GroundWork Open Source and Trend Micro will discuss their Eucalyptus solutions.

Eucalyptus has a growing ecosystem of strategic partners providing solutions that extend the usability and accessibility of the Eucalyptus private cloud software. Today, Eucalyptus partners comprise some of the world's largest companies including Dell, HP, Novell, VMware, as well as cloud computing innovators such as RightScale, Canonical, newScale and Wavemaker.
