Eucalyptus Systems is seeking a senior cloud consultant to join us in the US. Our consultants lead on-site delivery and implementation of enterprise-class private cloud platforms. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the role of a consultant at Eucalyptus Systems. You’ll be tasked with helping develop new service offerings, delivering engagements and training customers.

You are a strong and persuasive communicator, comfortable delivering presentations to large audiences and with excellent written and spoken English skills.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Develop and deliver go-to-market professional services offerings to address customer technical and business needs
  • Work with key partners to develop robust and comprehensive solution offerings
  • Nurture and strengthen technical relationships with the customer’s design and delivery teams
  • Communicate to the highest levels (team leads and executives)
  • Ensure that services are delivered with integrity and to the highest quality
  • Nurture cloud platform design skills within the team
  • Deliver on-site and remote training to customers
  • Promote collaboration between the sales and service delivery teams
  • Maintain a high level of technical proficiency on the Eucalyptus cloud platform and AWS

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of proven technical experience as a customer-facing consultant or in pre-sales
  • Demonstrable background in Open Source and Linux; RHCE certified or equivalent (e.g. LPIC-2/3) preferred
  • AWS certification is highly desirable
  • Experience delivering workshops and presentations to technical stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience of datacentre hardware and platforms
  • Strong understanding of virtualization, preferably Xen and/or KVM
  • Exposure to datacentre networking configurations and topologies
  • Hands-on experience with storage technologies, such as enterprise-class SAN arrays and distributed storage platforms like Ceph and Gluster.
  • Shell scripting and programming experience is advantageous
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Self-motivated and able to work remotely
  • Previous experience in delivering training for customers is beneficial
  • Willing to travel (approximately 60%, sometimes globally)
