Integration of Jamcracker with Eucalyptus Platform Enables Enterprises to Auto-Provision Resources and Build Private/Hybrid Clouds
SAN FRANCISCO, VMworld 2010 – September 2, 2010 — Jamcracker, the unified cloud services delivery and management company, and Eucalyptus Systems, creators of the leading open source private cloud platform, today announced an integration that enables enterprises to self-provision Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) private and hybrid clouds. The integration of the Jamcracker and Eucalyptus platforms allows IT departments to automate the process of procuring the resources and building infrastructure clouds. Eucalyptus Systems and Jamcracker are highlighting this new solution at the VMworld 2010 conference held this week.
The Jamcracker Platform Enterprise Edition enables organizations to provision and control both public and private cloud services. Meanwhile, the Eucalyptus cloud platform allows IT departments to set up their own private clouds and move workloads among internal servers, or to and from Amazon Web Services (AWS). The integration of both platforms provides a turnkey solution for procuring through Jamcracker all the resources required to implement scalable IaaS-style private and hybrid clouds using the Eucalyptus platform.
"The adoption of private and hybrid cloud technologies is growing rapidly as a means for large enterprises to access the efficiencies of public clouds and maintain the security advantages of on-premise clouds," said Steve Crawford, vice president of marketing and business development for Jamcracker. "Through this partnership with Eucalyptus Systems, we are providing organizations with a pre-integrated solution that makes it easy to centralize the resource provisioning, creation, and management of private clouds as wells as hybrid clouds that can tap computing resources in the public cloud."
"Self service is essential for any cloud infrastructure, and Jamcracker provides a proven solution that can help businesses unify IT services across private, hybrid and public clouds and deliver them in a single point of provisioning for end-users," said Matt Reid, vice president of sales and marketing at Eucalyptus Systems. "We welcome Jamcracker to the growing ecosystem of partner solutions that extend the benefits of the Eucalyptus cloud platform."
