Eucalyptus Certified Instructor

Eucalyptus Certified Instructor

Overview

The Eucalyptus Certified Instructor (ECI) certification tests potential candidates on their ability to perform design, install, configure, and manage functions for a Eucalyptus 3 deployment. It also validates teaching and delivery skills. Complete details regarding this program can be found in the ECI Program Guide, available to partner organizations upon request.

Intended Audience

Instructors teaching classes for Eucalyptus Authorized Education Partner (EAEP) organizations.

Prerequisites

A candidate must currently work for an EAEP organization, must successfully complete a Eucalyptus 3: Design, Build, and Manage class, and must have attained EUCP3+ status.

  • The EUCP3+ is a provisional certification for ECI purposes. That exam requirement will be replaced with a "higher passing score" version of the EUCA3 exam when that certification becomes available.*

  • Training tracks considered equivalent in other certification programs, for example, completing the same content via the Cloud Connections series, will not meet the ECI requirement.

Eucalyptus reserves the right to modify certification requirements from time to time.

Test Format

Testing comes in two parts: the EUCP3+ exam and successful completion of a Eucalyptus Instructor Certification Workshop (EICW). Both are required in order to earn ECI status.

The exam will be administered worldwide through Kryterion and will be delivered via the OLP technology suite. Taking the exam will require the installation of security software on your computer, a web camera with a good view of the entire testing area during the exam, and a microphone for communicating with the remote exam proctor who will monitor you during the exam. Test security will potentially include forms of both visual and biometric identity validation, as well as visual sweeps of the room in which the exam is being taken. All test sessions will be recorded and will be subject to review, and certifications earned can be revoked if exam security protocols are not followed.

At this time the exam is planned to be multiple choice, open-book and open note. Any printed resource other than illicit copies of actual test questions may be used as exam aids. Because of this, students should be prepared to answer questions that test real-world applications of knowledge rather than simple information recall questions.

Passing scores, number of questions, exam time limits, retake policy, pricing, and other logistics are still being determined at this time.

The EICW is an online instructor candidate assessment program in which a candidate is required to teach content from the Eucalyptus 3: Design, Build, and Manage course to a panel of three experts on Eucalyptus software and instructor-led course delivery. For complete details, refer to the ECI Program Guide.

Objectives Covered

Test: Prior to the launch of the certification, Eucalyptus Education Services will release an exam blueprint which will detail the objectives covered in the EUCP3+ exam, as well as the documentation and source material from which all exam items will be generated.

EICW: Please refer to the ECI Program Guide for additional details.

Notice

All of the above is currently part of a certification under development and is subject to change prior to final release of the certification.
